Waste made Beautiful. An intergenerational, exploratory exhibition that delves into the Next Gen of Sustainability. The exhibition Circular Futures: Next Gen arrives at a critical juncture in history, confronting unprecedented environmental, social, and political challenges.

At the forefront of these challenges is plastic waste —a pressing issue that threatens ecosystems, human health, and societal stability. From contaminating oceans and endangering marine life to fuelling climate change, plastic waste demands urgent action.

Against this backdrop, “Circular Futures: Next Gen” offered a hopeful vision of the future. It highlighted how digital design and manufacturing techniques can play a transformative role in addressing the plastic waste crisis.

The exhibition also delved into how recent technologies and emerging change-makers can harness their passion and ideas to improve the world. Speculative Solutions designed by students at SUTD addressed ways to adapt to extreme climate changes, such as rising sea levels. These solutions were showcased through visual boards, videos, and VR experiences.
